The Grandmothers speak. The Grandchildren listen and respond.
The grandchildren speak. The Grandmothers listen and respond.
Peace is on their minds. Peace is in their hearts. Peace is in their hands.
Words and art about peace pass between the generations and we listen for practical ways to build peace, sustain peace and be peace.
Join the present and future peacemakers from around the world.
Share your visions, your proven peace making ways, and your art to expand the future of peace on our planet.
You are invited to participate in this evolutionary and revolutionary project.
Please invite other peace promoting grandmothers and grandchildren to join us and add their conversations about sustaining peace to our book.
A percentage of this book will be donated to peace action in the countries represented by you!
Blessings,
Rosalie Deer Heart and Peg Brown
We Are Women of Peace
Women Empowering Women for Peace
Welcome to We Are Women for Peace. We believe women hold the future of peace in their hearts, hands, and relationships.
We envision a global community of women and children actively promoting and sustaining peace by sharing stories, visions, and practical ways of peace making. We believe that we are all learners and teachers. Together we nurture and empower each other to dare to make a difference in our own lives and in the larger community and the world.
Our stories carry meaning and wisdom. Together we are capable of creating a future in which peace prevails. As we share and weave our stories, experiences, visions, and strategies we create a collaborative future where peace becomes the process and the reality.
We appreciate your willingness to share your stories and ways of initiating and sustaining peace. As a beginning place, we offer you the following reflective questions. Please respond to the questions that feel connected to your heart.
- What does peace mean to you?
- What is your first memory of peace?
- What do you want others to know about you and your life?
- What is your experience with war and violence?
- What prompted you to choose to be a woman of peace?
- In what ways do you practice peace in your life?
- What do you believe women know about nurturing peace?
- What have you learned about peace from your mother, grandmothers and great grandmother, aunts, daughters?
- What are you teaching the young ones about peace keeping?
- How can others support you in peace making?
- Do you have any other reflections you feel are important to our peace initiative?
